just bought the sx because we have had 2 others knowing their really reliable! the rear shock is only recoiling on the spring. is there a better shock from a different quad that will fit on this 86 model? i've read where the original shocks on the sx are poor quality plus i weigh 200#. thanks steve

Welcome to the forum. With the age of it and not having any direct sharing of the rear shock with any other models, your best bet is to measure eye to eye length, and then start searching around for one similar. There are generics, used Honda ones, ones from other brands, etc. that could potentially work.

Thanks I did just that!

I ordered the one for trx250ex and works great. only needed a 1/8 shave off the one eye bolt mount. Had in on in less than 30 min. looks and works better than original factory!
