My 97' TRX200 has a goofy rear tire size @ 22x9-8. Can I use a 22x10-8? Seems to be more readily available and cheaper.

I can't see an inch in width making much difference, you should be perfectly fine doing that. Always worth checking that you do have the room under the fenders for the extra size though.
