I am working on a 1986 TRX70 for my daughter to ride. I need to replace the drive chain tensioner inside the chain case. Does anyone know if the Chain tensioner has a sprocket on the end or just a roller? I have seen pictures with it both ways. I am hoping to use one from an ATC70 parts bike that a friend has if that one is still usable.

I appreciate your help with that. It looks like the ATC used a sprocket and the TRX used a roller but other wise the mounts are the same. I am going to try the sprocket instead of the roller.
Thanks.

I think you’d get away with either, I’ve had dirt bikes/enduro/trials with all different types of tensioners, same bike, different model with different designs. They all do the same job don’t they I guess.
