Having just got this bike a week ago I had the chance to start looking deeper into the bike, like you do when you get new things. So when checking to see how the air filter was fitted noticed oil in the box. I take it this is not normal. I can see a breather pipe going to the box which is were the oil is coming from, bike starts fine and no smoke by the way, so guys what is the verdict.

Plus I have what I think is something a bit more terminal, when riding the bike around slowly about 20kph is sound ok but when I get it on the open road there is quite a load noise sounds like a bearing noise coming from the front. If I drive it in 4wd that noise is not there. Any ideas on this?. Thanks for any replies. Marty

The motor oil may be overfilled causing oil to blow into the airbox through the crankcase breather hose. So 1st step should be checking the oil level as the manual instructs.

Front end noise... 1st check air pressures in the tires, make sure air pressures are equal on each side. Tire heights should be the same on both sides. Then put in on jack stands and see if you can find a loose wheel bearing, bad CV joint etc. Check the oil in the front and rear diffs.

Thanks for the reply, you mentioned tyres mine has fatter tyres all round will that make a difference all look equally worn, but I’ll check pressures and for worn bearings. You might be right about the over filled on oil as when I went to check oil was coming out of the dip stick hole. I suppose if you want a proper service do it yourself and not the shop.
