Hi, do any of you know if either a 250EX or 400 EX seat of the same year (2001) fit my 300ex? Mine could use a new seat and I see several factory new versions all over the web.

Can't say for sure, but I know that the 250EX and 400EX seats are very different.
The seat on the 400EX is attached to the rear fenders when it's removed from the bike, and the locking clip is at the back.
On the 250EX the locking clip is on the side, and only the seat comes off when you remove it, the fenders don't come off with it.
The seats are different so I know they wouldn't fit each other.
But I am not sure if the 300EX has the same seat setup as the 250 or the 400.
It could be completely different.

Thanks for the help-I found Mud Motorsports, the make a very nice seat cover for it. Most likely will be going that route-Dave
