I have an 87 250x that cant get to start by kicking it. It will start right up when I pull it behind my truck. And after I get it started once it starts fine the rest of the day any ideas where to start?

Welcome to the forums...

Sounds like your decompression cable is out of adjustment. how does it run once you get it started?? Have you done anything to the engine or is it stock?

Do you mean once it's pull started(via truck) once it will start on it's own with the kicker the rest of the day?

Yea I almost positive it not the choke but the decompression valve could be it because it dosn even sound like it wants to start so it could just be opening to early maybe?

If that's not the problem, then, check you ignition components. You might have weak fire. That's the way they do when you have a weak stator. You can pull them with a vehicle and start them and they will start fine while they're warm. They usually begin by getting harder and harder to start by the starter or kicker, until one day, they won't start at all.
