Today i finally got time to tear into my quad I trouble shot the electrical, the decompression valve/cable, cleaned the ports in the carb, and finaly looked at the intake boot from the carb to the motor. Sure enough there was a huge crack in the side of the boot which would explain the start up and idel problems thanks for the help guy you are life savers.If any one knows a good cheap parts web site let me know! (bikebandit.com) is where I norm go.

Do an Ebay search for GDH Racing he will have what you need gauranteed!!! a 300ex is the same so look for that on his site if you don't see anything send them a message.
