i remembered the belmont stakes just in time to watch the race. the last leg of triple crown,. 1.5 miles. mike smith jumped out of the gates 1st. on Justify. the 1st 1/4 was fast, under 24 secs. then he gradually slowed the horse down. got to conserve energy for the end. those behind him also slowed down. when it came to the last 1/4, he took off before the others realized, it was just a second or so, by then, they had no place to catch up. i think Justify is a good horse, with a good rider. reminds me of pat day. when i bet them i lose, when i dont, i still lose. must be a physic thing in reverse.. i have hit bets on good days far, and few in between. Still a good race. id like to watch it again. 12 secs.an 1/8, is a good speed for a horse race, least your talking 1/4 horses. might be different there. i run ETs at ohio valley once. i got the 1st heat, the second time i let off cause i thought i was going to fast, lost that one. 8.73 sec. close to 1 hundred MPH, i was in third gear.. everything is relevant, in one way or another.

Justify has decent pedigree, it’s that all important bloodline that makes these crowning winners. We’ve had a great start to the season with our 2 year olds, no big wins but lots of smaller wins which of course make up the £££ pretty quickly.

I don’t follow to much over the pond, donyou have any Galileo sided runners? Our stallion is a son of Galileo, we used to send him to Argentina every year at the end of our breeding season, he’s stopped now as he’s sixteen, it’s a bit much on a horse of that age.

I am sure we do. i looked up Galileo, last we talked, i found the bloodline in many races, on this side of the pond.
i have to retrace my steps, then i will tell you of what i found. it was impressive, that much i remember. //Ed
PS i have also run across Argentina horses, even some riders. they got a style of their own.

at the farm i worked in ocala, an older girl was walking Onion, back to the barn. Onion was about 30yrs old. i could have asked to sit his back. however, the horse didnt deserve this. if Onion had bit me or kicked me, least tried, that would be a better story.

Yeah, Galileo is a top class flat race horse, now retired to stud, bloodline is second to none. He stands at Coolmore Stud, Ireland. Stud fee is £750,000!

not sure how euros translate to dollars. it seems a hefty price, for a bit of spew.
what do i know. Hobeau Farm had some good stock, but recycled too much.
as far as Secretariat, they had stock, where i first tried riding, Jack Van Berg farm, offshoot, secretariat off spring wernt doing as well as expected. went through a lot of horses there. young horses were pushed to fast, had many break downs.
a horses knees dont set till about 3yrs or after. if you got a lot of extra horses, you can afford to waste some. thats what i learned at van bergs. i didnt have to do near as much leg work at Hobeau. matter of fact, i dont remember doing any.
i'm sure we did, because, the farm manager got a case of DMSO. E showed it to me, told me he got a good price for it. it changes color when cold, an the one that sold it thought it was bad. i do remember using this. its supposed to leave a metallic taste if you use it, i was immune. however, later in life when i sanded copper pipe, even cigarettes taste sweet when you smoked. said horse bits coated with copper, taste better for the horse. i believe this. i wrapped many a horse leg, tis a talent. i wrapped people too. 2" for wrists, 3" for different joints, never got much past 4" , cept for horses. //ed'wart

It’s pounds we use, we’re not into that Euro junk lol. But yes, it equates to a hefty amount in dollars!
A case of DMSO? That’s a solution used by vet’s to clean the uterus in a mare, can be used for cuts also as it’s an anti inflammatory. It’s supposed to be controlled within the equine industry so administered by Veterinary Climics usually. We do have different laws and legislation though so may be non controlled in the USA.
If you taste it it would taste similar to garlic and at the same time sucking on a Coin, it’s vile! Lol
Horses do benefit from copper, usually chellates, helps their coat and main come along from a young age and does help their skin in some ways to which I can’t remember.

now 10 pounds=13.17 dollars. i seem, seem being the main word, to remember in the distant past, 1 pound=4 dollars. i remember using turpentine on cuts before. its a paint thinner, its also a solvent... Mike Smith 52, is the oldest jockey to win the triple crown. speak of records..
