Trails at Last!
Finally was able to get out this last weekend for the first time with our Can Am 570 and Honda Rancher. What a great feeling to be back out on mountain trails again. This first trip was extra special as one of our dear friends that we ride with often, has stage 4 cancer and was really great to see her out enjoying herself. We don't know how much time she has as she has been battling this for 5 years now and just decided to stop with the treatments. So we are going to try to take advantage of the time we have with her and get out as often as we can while we still have her. Got a great pic of her sitting on their old Polaris. For those of you that pray, would humbly ask for prayer for her, and her Husband(Julie and Ray). For peace of mind and mercy for this part of her journey until she goes home. Thanks

We have had so much moisture and cool weather this year that we still have pockets of snow along the trails. The 570 performed flawlessly, and drives like a dream, would never go back to a non power steering, or non independent suspension machine. But.......as smooth and nice as this machine is, will definitely be looking for a 2-up in the near future. My set up worked well but there were two other 650 2-ups on the ride and they are just "that" much smoother. I have no plans of getting rid of what we have, the Rancher as always was a dependable work horse and ran like a top for our friends that borrowed it. The New seat that I put on it made a huge difference. Our friends were thrilled to be able to go. Well here's a few pics of our ride on Saturday, will be heading out again this coming weekend with some friends that just picked up a little Yamaha Grizzly and have never done any trail riding. Will be another great day I'm sure, there is still snow on the back side of the mountains we are going to be riding. One of these times will leave pre-dawn so we can catch one of our mountain sunrises. Will share more pics from next week ends ride:grin

Thanks for the kind words regarding our friend Julie, we are going to take advantage of every opportunity we can while she is able. Yes we do consider ourselves very fortunate to have the freedom we do in the National Forest, great trails and fairly well maintained. This year is particularly beautiful due to all the moisture, everything is lush and green, still some puddles on the trails, small run off streams everywhere. We even managed to find a pile of snow on a north facing slope. Made a bunch of snowballs and packed them in the front rack trunk, when we caught back up to everyone pulled them out and threw them at everybody:grin. Great Day, looking forward to this weekend suppose to be great weather again, will share more pics when I can. FF

I'm sorry to hear about your friend Julie. My thoughts and prayers will be with her and her family.

You are doing the right thing by spending time together. These situations put life into perspective and how it is so important to spend time with our loved ones.

God Bless

Wheelsquad, Thanks will be a tough road at the end I can hardly bring myself to think about it, but we will enjoy every minute we can while we can. I really was hoping that the seat would be able to be retrofitted to the Can Am that we bought but it was just not going to be possible as the rear rack is mounted way to high and would have put the seat at what we felt was an unsafe center of gravity so chose another option will post a pic of the finished product on that one. But was able to fit it to the Rancher and our friends used it on Saturday and it worked great!:grin If you have any more questions on any part of it please feel free to PM me and or give me a call I can give you my Phone # over the PM or an email address. That was one of the things I thought about, and it came to a successful fruition. That doesn't always happen for me:wink but as I always say even the sun shines on a dog's butt some days. The best part is, it releases and comes off in about 2 seconds. And it is way more comfortable than those seats with the trunks, my brother has one of those and after he sat on this one he said that there is no comparison. And I agree with you on the cost, those Can Am seats are between $575-$600, there was no way I was going to pay that, I did however have to drive about 6 hrs round trip to pick it up. My daughter picked it up for me as it was in the small town where she lives. Double bonus $60 seat and I got to see my daughter only $30 on gas round trip. Was a good score and with a little of ingenuity worked out well.

vwmg, thanks for the kind words and prayers, we know the importance of friends in these unfortunate situations and are trying to be there and support them the best way we can, it is also therapeutic for us as well. It truly does put the minuet issues of our lives into prospective. I will pass on that there are others praying for them, they will be very appreciative. Pretty tough for her as she has a new grandson and a newly acquired daughter in law. She will leave a huge void in all of the lives she has touched, but she knows who is in control and where her eternal destination is, and in the end we get to spend eternity with her:grin. Will be tough till that time though.

mrbb, thanks we hope so, it's hard to see those you love have to go through the hurt especially when they love life so much. She will be missed by many.
