Hey everyone, so I've been thinking about the next set of tires I want to get

My 2014 rancher has:
Brand: Maxxis
Front:24x8-12
Rear:24x10-11

I'm looking at:
Brand: Kenda Bearclaw
Front:25x8-12
Rear:25x10-12

Will these tires I want to get fit my rims? And will they work good on my atv? Not sure how the bigger size might effect my ride/ atv in general.

The bear claws you're looking at are for 12" rims, so you'll either need to find some rims for the back, or see if they make a bear claw for an 11" rim. For some strange reason the ranchers have 12" rims on the front and 11" on the back.

I think those would work really good though, they look like they'd be a nice tire with a lot of grip for trail riding and the odd trip into the mud.
They'd be a very nice upgrade over stock.

Those are the sizes I went to in the bear claws with larger rims in back. I've noticed no size difference to speak of as some say the bc run small. Rides fine and grabs good.

you will have to get a 11 inch wheel tire for the rear, OR BUY new 12 inch wheels for the rear of your atv(and you will need wheels of correct off set and stud hole spacing)
the last number in a tire size is the wheel size, they have to be the same as what size wheels you have

HONDA< for unknown reason, seems to like to still use 11 inch wheels ?/
NEXT< ALL Aftermarket wheels will have different off set, than a OEM honda wheel, making the tires stick out slightly PAST your fenders, making mud and such fly a little more than stock set up!

NOW< if your looking for a different tire, and NOT pushing them, you CAN buy 11 inch wheel tires, just NOT very many out there to pick from

I run Titan 589's and they |MAKE them in sized still for an 11 inch wheel

been a super long wearing tire and good all over, a little stiff and heavy, but a solid tire, mine are on 11 inch wheels now and 10+ yrs old, 5,000+ miles and at about 50% tread left!
work well in snow and mud, and no complaints on trails?? 10 yrs on flat, from a 4 inch nail?? doubt any tire would have stopped that LOL

here is a link to them
as for the taller size too, going an inch taller, should be much of a big deal at all on handling and or power, just a slight difference

and you will ONLY gain a 1/2 inch of ground clearance, pending HOW true your OEM tires are to 24's and how true the 25's are

as NOT all tire company's are very accurate on REAL sizes of things , many SO called 25's might ONLY be 24 and so,me MIGHT be 26 inches??

but on average, going from a stock 24 to a 25, is NO big deal!
just need right sized wheels and tires to fit!

or look for take off's

BUT then again, like I said, the costs to buy new wheels, might be more than just buying the correct sized tires? so what are you saving then,???

unless your getting wheels free??
the difference in either paying more for right tire, or buying wheels,??
the math is what the math is?? HAHA!

Yeah, now it's time to look up prices for correct size and contemplate either keeping the rims I have or buy new ones. Why do they make the rear an 11 not 12? Safe to assume it is to make the atv sit/ride at a even level?

I have NO clue, MY guess is they made a contract with a wheel maker that must be a 30 yr contract?? so there force to stick them on

the wheel size has NOTHING to do with ATV sitting level or not, its round< and if the tires are all the same diameter the wheel in it doesn't matter

THE 1 inch smaller wheel MIGHT give a little softer ride, as more rubber to help work as a shock protector, but then again, the more rubber will have more side wall flex and that will alter handling
that 1 inch difference is rather moot IMO
My atv came with 11 inch wheels on front and back, all 4!
so, thats why I run the tires I do, as back when I got them , early 2000's, that was all they had in an 11 inch tire in a good all terrine like mud tread!

I love the tires, NOTHING bad about them, I never seen the point to swap to 12 inch wheels,
have thought about it when I see cheap take off wheels, but I'm a its not broke why fix it>
the rate these tires are wearing, I will get another 5+ yrs out of them, so, at 500 bucks a set and getting 15+ yrs, that's 30 bucks a yr costs for tires>
as long as they keep making them(which I don;'t see them stopping) I have no reason to swap to 12's

yes, most guys run 25's and many even 36's
I'd stick to 25's if you do any work with it, or bigger longer steeper hills
just to save the little power difference
, the extra 1/2 inch of clearance isn;t worth going to 26's IMO
but to each there own?

Tyre sizes are measured as follows....

H x W x R
Height x Width x Rim size/height
