havin the same issue right now , exactly! what he said is my problem , air is blowing out of intake and sucking in exhaust. i loosened up both valves so they are closed added compressed air into cylinder and have very little crankcase blow by and no valve leaks.
please call or text if ya can headin to shop to bang my head against wall
