i got an 04 416ex and i blew the head gasket. im doin all the work my self but i cant get the timing chain off on the cam? i pulled the tensioner off and got the crank case cover off and there is no way of gettin it off in the lower end without pullin the clutch?

If you are just replacing the head gasket, you don't need to take the timing chain off the bottom gear. If, after loosening the tension, the chain is still too tight to remove from the cam gear, then unbolt your cam gear and let it drop down a little and remove the chain.

Thats how to do it!! Got to take the gear off the cam to get chain off.
