looking to add a bore kit and cam to the 400... thinkin stage two hot cam and a 416 kit.... or the 426 not sure heard alot of good things about the 416 and the cam... what am i gonna be looking at spending to have installed? ( just a rough estimate not expecting exact answer) i need top end power bad! lol... any suggestions not just on mods mentioned would be sweet got money to spend but trying not too go overboard

The 416 with a cam seems to be pretty reliable on my brothers 400. If your looking for more top end you will be getting a aftermarket cdi. The cam(depending on which one you get) and bore are gunna give you alot of torque and low end. Not so much top end. You could try going bigger on the front sprocket. That will give you top end. Also could get bigger back tires than the stock 20"s. These will all give you topend.

That will be a decent set up! I have a set on mine. Much better over the stock 400ex shocks!

I found some works triple rates on e-bay cheaper than 450 shocks when i got mine. Maybe I'm just lucky. if you use 450 shocks get 08' or newer. people I've talked to said the valving is alot better.

The 450's from 06-current are exactly the same. The only thing changed are the colors and graphics.

That's a matter of opinion. The 440 kit will stomp it.

Well yeah, but that doesn't mean that the 426 is better. I know plenty of people that have NOT had the heating issue with the 440. The 416 and 426 are more reliable but power wise they can't touch a 440.

right i know i just said if done right the 426 can run with a 440 my friends 426 does but he has a pipe a cdi box jetted open air box
