i want to go to a twist,,,my thumb gets tore up with the stock throttle. I have not done it yet so I cannot confirm what others have told me about the twist being unsafe and not recommended. but one day I will do it to see for myslef :icon_ lala:
i am currently looking at this model i like the fact that it can be moved out of the way anytime http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/t...&parentType=index&indexId=cat20161&hasJS=true
What would be unsafe about them ?? I Like the idea if I get thrown up on the handle bars im not mashing the the thumb throttle. That's what caused my last wreck
The problem with a twist throttle on an ATV is when you get your machine sideways. Think of how much your hands are twisting the grips when you are switching positions on the quad. If you make a right hand turn and you get your whole body down on the inside, there is a very good chance you're going to twist the throttle wide open.
Build your arm/hand strength. The pain will go away.
I voted thumb. If I was dragracing always in a strait it would be handly. I had one on my Tecate and loved it but I rode less agressive then but as I started to ride harded it had less control of the Quad in turns because I was leaning so hard. Thumb is the best and safest for me.
that's why I liked the one at Cabela's if your getting wild you can flip it up out of the way and use the thumb control,,,,for slow rides or long ones you can use the twist best of both worlds IMHO
