I was looking at the Garmin Nuvi 500. It is mainly for on road maps, but has Topo maps installed. I just wondered if any one out there uses GPS units on their atv? I think this would be a handy feature on my Foreman. I know Honda made the GPScape for the Rubicon. So, what does anyone think? Thanks

I have a Garmin Colorado 400T and love it. The Nuvi 500 is somewhat waterproof so it be fine. I'm not sure how well a touch screen GPS would hold up on an ATV though. The 60CSX is pretty nice too. Some of Garmins hand held's with radios built in are pretty good too. I hear some people like the Magellans too, but I've never used one.

I guess it depends on what you plan on using it for and how much you are willing to spend. If you are going to use it strictly on your ATV then I would stick with one of the Garmin topo handhelds. If you want to use it in your car and on the ATV then maybe something like the 500 would be better.

After owning one myself, I would have to agree with you. Polaris cant even fix the POS that I have under warranty. They are now saying that it might be Novemeber before they can get a replacement transmission.

I've never owned a Polaris and after seeing all the problems, I'm sure I never will.
