The shifter Drive Motor

The shifter drive motor is not getting power. New battery motor does work. The instrumental does not work so no code. the ECM gives the power to motor but what tells it to do so?

i cant give much advice; what is it your working on, as year, model, engine.
also there is a sticky in repair an maintenance, that covers shifting motors. also Welcome. your at the right place.
