Ok.
This is simply for the chassis build.

Stock 2001 300ex

Before I blow or waste money.

450r swing arm and axle
450r a arms and rods
400ex shocks

Now what all fab work will I need to do other then for the front shocks.

Arms bolt right up?
Swing arm direct fit?

I have seen these done and the bike looks amazing.

These parts can be had for less then $200 shipped total.

I was thinking of taking and media blasting the bike and having it PCéd something different, swing arm polished local @ peach and installing it all fresh.

I just need info before I waste money or am fabbing my butt off for 30 days.

Not my bike but the best picture I have found.
If the 400 parts will yeild the same result and be a more direct install then please let me know.

If there is no gain from the 400ex swingarm then that info is a huge help also.

the Swing arm should bolt right in but I think there is a mounting tab for the stabilizer you have to install or fabricate. the A-Arms are fine but don't do the 400EX pogo sticks. go with the 450R shocks or KFX450 those two have more adjustment than the 400's do. you wil also need to extend your brake lines you can just remove the lower bracket that holds the lines to the A-Arms and that should give you a little more length if not just simply grab a set of 450R lines.

IMO the 400EX will yeild the same results personally I would retain the stock a arms, go buy a set of good shocks then go to www.diamondjcustoms.com and order the shock conversion and widening kit the +4.5 kit and be done with the front, but if you can get the parts for the price you quoted then go for it.

I can run the 450r shocks no problem, but as far as the brake line's I have a local place that does steal braided lines for hydraulics.
I can get these made to fit for very cheap.

I will be running braided front and rear lines on this bike.

Now I was told the 450 will be a +4 app front and rear axle.
The swingarm should be +3 over the 300ex.

With the 450r shocks and this swing arm and axle. This think could be a factory race ready chassis for the most part for less then $200

I am picking up a set of black Baja rears and itp blade fronts today for $100 off CL.
My new maier body is coming brown cow today also.

I am going to order the 400ex carb for when I do the 330 kit when it needs a rebuild.

I am not going to build the arms.

450r arms will be +4.5 and the same with the rear.
The 450r swing arm will add over 3 inches to the length.

How do you have a 7.5 axle rear? What is it?

I decided to get lazy.
I bought a G-Force rear axle,450r a arms,400ex carb,Black plastic tank all from eBay this week.

I am picking up new dunlop 20x10x9 for the rear and 22x7x10 front today.

I was wanting a 18x10x9 rear but found a great deal for front and rear for $125 for the set.

That bike with the torn seat is again not mine.

Mine is all red maier race cut with a silver frame and red moose bars.

I will get pictures up next week when I am ready to sport my $50 purchase that I know have $850 in.

i don't think the swinger is a direct fit but i don't think its impossible either, I am trying to find better info on this without much luck as my gf is asking about mx.. Right now her 250x is sitting on 400 arms,, adj rear axle. It has been great on trails.. and will probably serve her first year on mx with a revalve, and new rear shock.. but when she gets aggressive its gunna leave her wanting more..
HRE makes a nice swinger and stem as well as some nice foot pegs,, (index) as far as arms I also think the 450r requires you to re weld the tabs to the front frame where they mount up.. I am not in a situation where i have done it but have read a good bit.. Hope any of this helps.. it seems though free info is always great,, this forum falls a little short for info on hardcore mx built bikes.. But I am not knocking it,, it is very resourceful in just about every other place and I thank everyone in this community for their input :)

The goals confuse me... 450R arms are not bolt on, but 400ex are. 400ex shocks would not be right for a racer. 450R would be ok. Just seems like you have it backwards unless you plan to cut and weld.
