The engine light is a self diagnostic feature.
Count the long and short blinks of your engine light to retrieve the trouble code.
Long blinks count as 10 and short blinks count as 1.
For example 1 long blink and and 2 short blinks is code 12.
Only 7 short blinks would be code 7.
Then you go to your manual in chapter 4 and see which DTC code it is.

If it us automatic the codes are still in chapter 4 of that manual.
