I know exactly what you mean, we go ride like this, then watch a supercross race during lunch and I think "these guys are nuts." I love watching my boys in action, it makes me smile and laugh out loud. I love it when they have small wipe outs or catch 3" of air. It's a big deal to them. I remember when it was a big deal to me.It's so funny...
It looks so tame, and dare I say "boring", in comparison to the usual MX and quad vids I see on YouTube.
But I KNOW they are having a complete BLAST!! haha.
Getting a chance just to RIDE anything motorized as a kid is THE funest thing in the world!
I'm so envious of their ignorance to the woe's of life, and their ability to just have pure fun.
It's neat to see them getting more comfortable on the machines.
Soon I'll be watching them do back flips over moving trains in a YouTube highlight video haha!
I'm pleased how quickly it's coming for them...I can see them experimenting with gears, and different ruts/lines in the corners. I am also pleased that they both bit the dust a few times without getting hurt because it makes them wiser and more cautious. They’ve picked up riding quickly, their flying! I remember it well, looks so slow in a video but boy oh boy does it feel so fast, I also remember how well I used to sleep after riding as a child! I bet you get a peaceful night after a days riding lol.
My daughters grew up riding the same bike (XR70) and both have commented it translated into driving skills in the car as well, learning how to feel through the seat how the vehicle is moving around, braking, etc...I'm pleased how quickly it's coming for them...I can see them experimenting with gears, and different ruts/lines in the corners. My dad use to race cars before I was born. This one driver instructor always told him. Your butt is the fingers of the road. You feel everything by your butt, bumps, sharp corners, hard braking. You have to drive with your head and your butt.My daughters grew up riding the same bike (XR70) and both have commented it translated into driving skills in the car as well, learning how to feel through the seat how the vehicle is moving around, braking, etc...I'm pleased how quickly it's coming for them...I can see them experimenting with gears, and different ruts/lines in the corners. Yes, the first dirt bike that I fell in love with and rode (belonged to a neighbor) was a Yamaha PW80. That magic never left.Agh it feels like yesterday; riding my little Honda 50 with the training wheels on haha. Awesome to see your kids enjoying the sport![]()
I like that. If we can keep our head and butt deeply involved in life's matters....maybe I'm taking this too far.My dad use to race cars before I was born. This one driver instructor always told him.
