Comment to Clarity from LaPue: Honda has earned its great reputation due to simplicity and durability of design. While I appreciate this is just research, it makes me appreciate the machine I have, and hopefully I will not have to upgrade to a new machine with a bunch of irrelevant features that make it yet more complex. The goal is to ride, not sit on a traveling couch with air conditioned coffee machines.

No where does it say adding power to a Honda ATV...
All of that sounds like the ATV's of the future are going to be even more under powered due to carrying unnecessary weight. The anti theft tracking device is the best option on that list in my opinion.
What they should be offering is a 750cc Muscle machine, they've perfected every other model for most users but don't offer a truly powerful machine.

Electric boost motor, right after height adjustable suspension.
I must be old, I don't want most of them things on any ATv I have LOL
I want simple not more gadgets!
I rather a brand new 1999 -2003 like , 450 foreman foot shift ,
than one with all that above on it!
NOT that all things are bad
I just mean, I rather simple
seems to me, folks are just getting way to dependent on gadgets today

If I had to have some other options to a OLDER atv, it would be a larger fuel tank for more range, a HI/LOW range transfer case, come stock on 26 inch tires ( a switchable on/off locker for the front)and geared to correct for the larger one's
a little more HP wouldn;'t hurt, but I'm OK with what they have if not! for what I do with an atv!
NO digital NOTHING, Simple!
and I'd bet they would sell a LOT of them too!

Not to old mrbb, I don't want all that junk either, it's pointless on an ATV and proven on cars/trucks that it doesn't work anyway!

You forgot one, High Power Engine Technology: Increases engine power through technologies such as turbo/supercharging, direct injection, variable valve timing, etc.
Some of those things interest me, but what doesn't interest me is a 28hp 1500lb ATV that costs $45,000. Some of these things already exist in other mfg's ATVs.

45,000 confirmed ?! Lol did that full blown idiot duffus al gore help design this junk ? Haha! Give me a gas engine anytime......n four wheel steering ? On a quad ? REALLY ??!! Over kill IMO tire pressure system ? Plain dumb , the guys who designed this mess most be smart phone addicts...i don't don't want anything that mechanical computerised following me..... All this does is seem to take ALL the fun out riding..., i wouldn't have this junk! , i emagine honda just messed up with this quad, kinda makes me sick/angry they went from designing good to fair and now this messed up four wheel rolling computer....I'll add this if honda wants to build a better quality good selling machine, then all they have to do is ask the guys here! Sorry for the rant, but this one bothers me, a smart quad ? Sheesh! Honda just got a strike from me!

I personally think, its NOT about taking the FUN out of things, its more about making things so NO skill is needed to drive them
its like cars with auto parking and lane alerts and turning lights and wipers on automatically
its making folks NOT need any skills to do things
and in the process, if you ask me, its making people dumber LOL
Smart this or that,
SURE isn;t helping humans get any smarter, just the opposite if you ask me

Yeah i get your point, and i completely agree, this kinda smart technology design on certain things machines etc ..... Does no good for humans , it's become a dumb world, when it comes to things like this, this means one doesn't have to pay attention to auto emergency braking on cars << saw that watched the ticketing haha! as for me ? I think I'll keep my eyes n the road......and off the phone!

I'll wait for others to read the string, don't wont to bump it too far, LOL
Whats next....?

Drone delivery of ASIMO to help you get out of the rhubarb when your mired?

lol...

I figure a James Bond version.... The detachable handle bar head light , they should made that a standard on ALL fwd models.

Pretty sure the old 350D Foreman's had that in the 80's? lol Not sure though, as Canada didn't get the fancy 'Foreman' model. haha

The 250es big red three wheeler had a detachable headlight... The cord was a decent length..
I don't want any more electronic stuff--in fact I want less. The speedometer/tripmeter is plenty enough. I like that new ATVs have independent front and rear suspension, disk brakes and bigger engine

battery powered ATV I wanna see

This is a good place to voice your opinion. The survey from Clarity for Honda just shows that they are considering lots of options, but listening to what we really want. There is no telling what they will actually do, but now is the time to hear some real opinions.

Seems that a computer on-board is likely part of the equation. "Follow me" mode would be great! I could put 200 stakes in the quad trailer, survey along, and just whistle and the darn thing would come to me. I wouldn't have to walk backwards anymore. Or I could shoot that Mastodon and just whistle and the quad and trailer would just show up.
Menard_LaPue,

First, nice post and agree with others, a glimpse of the "possible" future. I must admit, the post reminds me of what occurred in vehicles over the past 30 years, many electronics, hybrids, etc., and one could argue vehicles are far better today vs. 30 years ago. Obviously, some people may see it differently, but there is no question vehicles today are very different when you look at the level of electronics vs. those 30 years ago and I would not want to see that level of complexity come to ATV's. In the case of ATV's, I personally think the "market place" will not allow it to happen quite the way some engineer envisions. As an example, Polaris can't give away (well may they could give it away, LOL), the electric Polaris Rangers vs. a full line of high end, high horsepower seat ripping units, so I see the market place dictating this outcome.

I guess if you want some electronic gizmos to do all the work for you. So you can tell your fellow snowflakes that you're a hard core atv rider, and that makes you giggle and fart at the same time, more power to you..
All those gadgets and modern technologies will cost $$$$ not just to buy but to repair as well. The electric powered part is a little outrageous, why bother, why not just make an all electric ATV..?
I dont understand why Honda are trying to make an ATV into a computer on wheels, they should concentrate on user demand, what people want, not what people already have.
My car has most of those gadgets, I don't use half of them in that either! Lol.

As I said earlier, a muscle machine would be ideal and then a big list of optional extras for new ATV's such as, heated seat and grips, high and low t-box, storage options, snorkels, spot lights, tyre & wheel options etc etc.
