I'm wanting to take my shocks apart so i can clean the aluminum part. I haven't really looked at it much but does the spring come off easily?

I've never taken one apart before, but I saw one of my buddies take one apart and he didn't seem to have too much trouble. Only took him a couple minutes.

Compressing the spring would be the hardest part. After you get the spring compressed, you just pull the retainer ring out from the end of the spring. Here is a link I found to a site that will show you how to disassemble the shock with two ratchet straps.

Yep thats the way it works.I did this once without any way of copressing the spring.What a pain.I used channel locks and almost took my eye out.
