Just got a 06 350 Rancher. Love the thing. I’ll never get rid of it. The carb was crap when I got it. So I used and old carb from a Trx 250 and its working fine. But do you think it might be taking power from me? Should I go ahead and get the right carb? I’ve invested some money in getting it working right but if I can re-use that carb I get to spend money on other things!

just rebuild the oem carb that came on it, why do you want a lesser carb on it ?????. I don't understand some people. oh, and shindy makes a great after market carb rebuild kit .

Get a copy of the service manual and follow instructions word for word and keep us posted on your progress if you can.

You know, I just don’t know enough about it to know it there was a difference. The carb it came with was a cheap aftermarket and it leaked gas. So I just wanted it to run. I’m new to this stuff but know basics. If a 250 is a lesser carb then I will replace it. I just wanted to spend money on other aftermarket parts if I could.

your first mistake was taking the cheap way out, your second mistake was thinking an after market cheap china knock-off carb would work ?, your third lesson should be to buy an OEM carb, and fix it right . I am not trying to be mean towards you here ?..I am just stating facts.

The 250 carb. is smaller and preventing full power potential from your 350. If you want more power then the correct carb is the only option. Buy a used carb somewhere and perhaps overhaul it if it doesn't run well .
