Hi I am a newbe to ATVs bought a $ 800 2006 Recon ex have bad threads in frame don't know how to deal with this.thinking tap it don't know size or pitch.any other ideas? Thanks for the ideas

to get the thread size you can use a caliper and a thread gauge , if you don't have a caliper then you could use a crescent wrench and a ruler

Honda often lists the size and length of fasteners in the part description. Try looking it up on Partzilla.

Hopefully you have enough left to retap the threads. If not, you'll either have to weld one side in, cut out a good swingarm mounting bolt section from another frame and weld into your existing frame, or do a frame swap.

I ran into this on my 06 Foreman and ended up swapping frames.
