new poster here, I have a 2009 rubicon 500, curious can i put a bigger tire on a stock rim. or do i need to stick with the one size? thanks

Hello and welcome to the fourms. There is no stupid questions when it comes to learning. As for the tire what size wheel is the stock?

As long as the last number matches. 25x8x10, 10 is the rim size. Dn't go more than 2" bigger than stock. 2" might even be pushing it.(clutch reasons)

hey guys thanks for the quick replys, stock size is 25x8x12,front and 25x10x12 in the rear. I would like to go to a 26 or 27 mud tire, but dont really want to get new rims if i dont need to.

You can run 27" mudlites or 26" outlaws but I would not run the outlaws unless all you do is ride in mud because they are a rough riding tire. You can also get 26" vampires if thy have started making them again.

Just make sure they are for a 12 inch diameter rim. The 12 will be the last number in the tire size.

You as long as the tire size is the same with the rim size. But surely there will be some changes in the handling if you change the tire size.
