350es rancher wont shift up or down not even with manual lever.Ideas? Thanks

Can you supply information about what led to the failure? What caused it, what noise does it make, was it a sudden failure or developed over time?

Daughter was riding up hill in 3rd,tried to down shift and would not, but did shift up to 4th,would still run,stoped to try to rock out of 4th, then used manual lever. After that it would not go, acts like it is in neutral, easy to push, but will not start. thanks

Can you shift it into other gears with the manual lever, even though the display doesn't show the gear? If not, then something is wrong with the transmission or the gearshift linkage.
