The starter solenoid is probably stuck. It'll need a new OEM Honda solenoid to fix it. Cheap china knockoffs will waste your time and money, so make sure you put a genuine Honda replacement on it. A used one will be more reliable and longer lasting than a 30-pack of the china garbage... so don't be afraid to buy a used part if you can't afford new.
Sticky Starter
I have a 1998 Honda 300 Fourtrax, the starter stays engaged after starting. I can turn the key off and remove it but it will still continue turn. Could problem be the switch or the starter relay?
