air impact, 17mm socket, left ( counter clockwise ) to remove. never had a problem with them yet.

Use a strap wrench to hold the flywheel ..

If you don't have one or access to one , I have used a ratchet strap and a piece of pipe in a pinch..

pssttttttt..he's at the recoil cage, not after the flywheel ?, stator cover is in front of the flywheel !..lol. he's trying to remove the pull starter recoil cage that has the long 17mm bolt holding it to the crank.
