@rodp if I had a machine shop in my back yard I'd probably do the same. But I don't lol I don't even have a welder or oxy/acetylene in my shop.
If you ever holiday to the UK Mac you should pop over to Dads shop, you'd be in heaven lol.
Probably lol. There is a nice little Logan metal lathe for sale here locally I'm trying to convince myself not to buy lol.
Mac, you NEED that lathe, it's almost compulsory. :wink

Yeah but you know how that works, get the lathe and the next thing I'll get the Bridgeport mill, then next thing ya know I have a whole machine shop and don't know what to do with it lol.

I did at one time have a little table top CNC mill, that thing was wicked I learned a lot with it, bit of a steep learning curve too. I sold it because it was really too small to do anything with, but I had my fun with it. Sherline 5400 I think it was.

@mac102004

I've got a table top mill here at home, but not cnc as I'd never be able to work it. lol. The one I have at work is some german make, nice one though. When using it for drilling it will put a 2" drill through steel without breaking sweat.

I'm no machinist, but I can work them. You'd soon pick up using any machine Mac, it's not working them that causes problems, it's over working them that does it. Anyone with mechanical sympathy can get away with using most machines.

Now go buy that lathe, you know you need it lol :)

There's a 3/4 drive socket set on ebayUK going for £40, sockets from 19mm to 72mm.
it's a large tool used to remove the lock ring that holds the pinion gear, bearing in the rear differential. you can buy a ring gear and pinion gear set on ebay, and they come with this tool, I think it was like 126 bucks for all of it if I remember right ?, well worth it, yes the ring gear, and pinion gear were after market, my bud bought them, I kept one of tools that came with the kit..lol.
Go to pic of the tool shady? I'm intrigued lol
