Silicone is only a sealant, I wouldn't use it myself, just don't think it would hold. I'd be looking at using polyurethane adhesive sealant, 3M's do a good one and so do Sikaflex.
I have split rims on my 110. Here is a good idea I got from 3WW. Use a piece of old inner tube as the o-ring. Works way better and I didn't even have to take the tire off the rims to get it between the halves. Make it roughly the same size and shape as the inside of the rim half.
Mine will sit for months at a time without losing tire pressure.
