nice find on the spark plug helmut..i only seen two thing's in that write up..that bothered me...lol..1..they spoke of adjusting your timming...on atv's..you can't manualy adjust your timming..the c.d.i controls this..and the other thing i read in it..what the heck does adding air in the left rear tire got to do with the spark plug ??..lmfaoooo...anyway..i'm sure you posted this to give a baseline on reading spark plugs..good fine bro !

Yeah, the adjusting timing part only applies to car engines and he stated that the tire pressure statement was off topic. Although, you can adjust timing on 2 stroke ATV and motorcycle engines. I thought it was an interesting read, though.

Hmmm, someone knocking a Dyno machine but pushing THEIR book.
Yeah, I read 4 or 5 different articles about tuning engines and it seems everyone has different opinions. I would never buy any of their books.

Ok heres a stumper what would cause my plug to be pitch black on one half and white on the other? Lean and rich both? Is that even possible? I mean i know its possible because i just pulled mine and thats the read i got.

Leaking exhaust valve seal on one side? Perhaps

Here is another article on reading spark plugs that I like a little better. It explains things pretty good and the pictures are a lot better. This article is also geared toward race cars, but I don't see why most of it wouldn't apply to ATVs as well. It goes through heat range, jetting, and signs of preignition/detonation and has no mention of tire air pressure or book purchases. LOL.
