Plantation in Sparta, Ga on Feb. 14th. For lack of a better name, we are going to call this race the
SORCS Funduro. No membership, drivers license, or tag required.
This event will feature a 25 to 30 mile loop run twice. The race will have transponder scoring, a normal
hare scramble start, an observation check at the far end of the loop, and a 30 minute pause for gas and
lunch after the first loop. The start of the second loop will be enduro style. Example: All riders coming
in to the scoring tent in the 11:30 minute will start the second loop at 12:00. All riders coming in on
the 11:31 minute will start the second loop at 12:01 and so on. Riders will be logged in a back-up book
and tagged for the restart as they exit the scoring tent. The start of the second loop will use normal flip
cards like any enduro. All riders tagged with a 12:00 restart sticker should be at the starting line a few
minutes early, to be logged in a back-up book to prevent cheating, and when the card flips 12:00 you
continue racing, all the while the computer scoring system is still ticking. At the end of the second loop
the race is over with a checkered flag. Scoring will stay open one hour and 15 minutes after the race
leader arrives ( to allow for 15 rows starting one minute apart) anyone arriving after that is houred out
and will not be scored for the second loop . Results will be computed like any 2 lap hare scramble.
Think of it as a 2 section enduro, with the second section ending with a tie-breaker check. (2nd section
will be counted to the second). The course will be a mixture of old hare scramble courses, enduro trails
from our Rattler Enduros, and all the new trail we can cut between now and race day. Quads will run
the majority of the course 2 laps, with the single track sections taken out, same pause for lunch and
same scoring as the bikes. Minis will run an abbreviated course of about 7 miles for 3 laps, with
normal hare scramble scoring- no pauses. Start times for this event will be: minis 8:15, bikes 10:00,
