are all new machines required to be adjusted after the 100 miles brake in period? on my first rancher never did anything and it still runs fine?, although friend picked up a rancher with like 65 miles on it and the engine sounds like it makes a clicking noise sometimes when your rolling and press the throttle lightly? is this adjustment, I think its shitty oil and gas with stabilizer is not helping either? HELP LOL :hail: thanks

The valves are probably the main thing to be adjusted as they can tighten up.

Some people don't do it, but it's best to do it and it's easy to do.

Its not a big deal if you have some machinical ability and a little time. But if you don't know what you are doing you can create some problems.

Valves are pretty easy, just takes alot of plastic removal to get the head completely exposed. The machines get really hard to start and sometimes you can hear a tapping. Change all of your fluids and you will be fine. I have never had to adjust valves after a break in period. I check mine once a year. Have only had to adjust them 2 times in 3.5 yearss.

nah..i doubt the stabilizer will cause the ticking/tapping sound..more than likely..it's your valves that need adjusting..real simple to do.

It would be hard to find a service manual for a Rancher 400AT online for free, unless someone on here would have one and would send you a copy.

Just go buy one its the best 50 you will spend and think of the money you will save doing your own work, it pays for itself the first time you use it.
