New guy here. Hello all! Well it's a none shifting 2001 rubi that's got the usual malfunctions only with some different twists. Here are the symptoms-

1. Starts in neutral but will not rev freely-- bogs down. Perfect idle but any touch of the throttle immediately bogs the motor.
2. I can roll the bike freely in neutral as it should.
3. Shifting to reverse totally locks up the tires and again revving the motor only bogs it down.
4. Shifting to any forward drive gear yields same response. Tires lock up and motor bogs.
5. Code retrievals show me only 5 blinks. I've done the clearing thing but didn't help.
6. The up-down-up procedure does initialize the shifting motor--I can hear it-- but I'm really not sure what it's does cause nothing changes.

I've changed the angle sensor, but this didn't help one bit. I did the OHM meter test on the old and new and both checked out according to the manual. Also made sure both were preloaded and installed properly.

On my own I've gone through the entire bike checking and lubing all connections. Specially the ECM.

Now for know issues of symptoms. I checked the oil pressure and found that I have none. Hillbilly test was to pull the oil pressure test plug and start engine and a few spurts cam out but I could put my finger on the opening and stop it. When done with oil pressure test gauge I got a reading of zero,,, not even a flinch of the gauge.

That led me to believe that the oil chain came off. Right now I have the front crank case housing off and the oil pump chain is clearly intact.

I'm stumped! Any ideas?

I'm just talking here. Just looking for a little support and help!!

First off stop running the motor there is a 90% chance that the oil pump chain has come off leaving zero oil pressure! Code 5 is angle sensor system (motor lock) This puts the machine in fail safe mode. Have the oil pressure checked before anything else.

Hey Saber6 thanks for replying. I went out and bought a oil pressure test gauge just for that reason. I followed the manual directions for checking the pressure. I got no reading at all. The gauge didn't budge a bit. Right now the front crank case housing is separated from the motor and the chain is very intact and not at all loose.
