Ok, I generally just wear boots jeans and a T-shirt/sweatshirt (and helmut) but I would like to get some riding gear. I'd like to hear your thoughts on good quality gear and boots that won't break the bank. I don't mind paying a little more for quality I just don't know anything about whats out there.

Alpine star makes a great boot. Thats what my next pair is going to be.

if you want good boots alpine star is the only way to go and some decent pants and shirts they wont clean your walet are moose or shift clothes

I like the Moose gear, Fly is pretty inexpensive too. I had a complete Oneal Element suit and boots, but my butt was too big for them so I sold them.

I have a FLy outfit and a Oneil outfit. Like them both. I also have a Oneil Helmut. I have two pairs of boots. A pair of Thor boots and a pair of Alpine tech7. The Alpines are way nicer but the thor product was good for the price.

I have always used Fox Boots, I LOVE THEM. Fly, Answer, Thor, Moose, Shift, Fox, Acerbis, One, and MSR all make some really good gear.

On a side note, Alpinstar is not the best boot available. Sidi and Garne both have them beat. But they also break the bank.

Thats I wear riding in the summer. Boot cut jeans, tee shirt, and sneakers. With helmet, gloves and goggles ofcourse. All fox brand except the scott goggles. I have a pair of Thor riding boots, but find it too hard to shift in them. The ankle is too stiff. Used to have a chest protector too, but I gave it to someone else who needed it more than me. I figure as long as I stay in my comfort zone and don't ride over my head, I'll do just fine. Wouldn't mind to have a good pair of boots thoough.

$40, water proof, warm, comfy, what more do you need. I was just riding this past weekend and it was cold. i wore some under armor long johns with old jeans and a sweat shirt and I was fine.

I won't ride without riding boots. They offer MUCH more ankle support and protection from your feet/ankles slapping the ground in the event of a crash. I did this to my ankle inside a MX boot.

I go to Academy and get the cheapest pair of hip waders they have!
Its hard to wreck when digging thru the peanut butter we have for mud!!!
