i have a 2005 honda TRX300EX, Lately the starter was acting up so I changed the starter brushes, now the starte spins but the engine will not turn... I thought that it was the timing chain, but after removing the valve covers I realize that chain was fine. it seems that the starter is sipnin in reverse, for when I trun the engine counterclockwise the engine spins.Question Why would a starter spin in reverse?

P.s the new brushes were not an exact fix?????
