Just purchased my first ATV a 1994 300TRXFW. Needs an oil change but as I look for a filter I find choice between a stainless steel reusable filter or conventional type. Anybody have experience with the reusable. Doesnt sound logical to me to reuse a filer? I want to use best filter system.

I have never heard of a reuseable oil filter and dont think it would be a good idea. Sounds like it would be a pia to clean properly and keep the inside of the filter free of junk.

I do not know anyone who has every used a cleanable oil filter. I know they make them.
But I would have to agree with the cleaning probly being difficult. Atleast it sounds difficult.

Not a fan of a reuseably oil filter there is no way you can get it clean i would stay with paper element filters, i use the HIFLO Filtro brand i order them online from ThumperTalk.com You will see the red box top right of the screen PARTS STORE click that, Honda get like $10 bucks for their filters i pay $2.33 ea for the HIFLO FILTRO and there are very good filters.

that will still be a good oil filter. i just order my online in bulk usually a dozen at a time.

I've never used a reusable oil filter either. OEM filters are only about $6 for the Fourtrax 300 at the dealer.
