I forgot about the clear coat , I think your right ?, but, with a razor, and a steady hand, a person could trace-cut the decal out line, and still use a heat gun to get the decals off, I would think so anyway ?.Didn't they clear over the tank decals from the factory? When I was building mine I had picked up a set of tan plastics and got a tan tank from ebay that needed to be repainted. It had clear over the decals and I had to sand them down first to remove the old decals so I could finish sanding the whole thing.
That could've just been on that one tank, though. Maybe the PO did that or something. I haven't even thought to check my green tank since it's in good shape and doesn't need any work.
I use the paper clip, browse pc pics, open, up load, easy. all can be done when replying to a post. won't work well on a phone though ?, I stay on here with my pcView attachment 69433

View attachment 69465 Thanks for the info on decals. I've decided to keep the old tank. The old man i purchased from rolled it and broke his knee. So his knee bent the tank. I'll keep it for character.
So here i do on the restore work. The first thing i did was add a 2" lift. Since there are no lifts that fit this 1991 model, i modified the HL 2" lift Kit by adding spacers. Note the rear shock support brakes was a bugger to get on so i recommend using a longer bolt (3.5") to give yourself a little more room when attaching the brakes to the brake drum housing.
Ok rookie question. What is the best way to post Photos?
they will me loose if checking on the wrong stroke ?, please read my sticky on how to set and adjust valves on all 4-stroke motors in the repair section !. I give great instructions on how to set, adjust, and check to make sure your setting them on the correct stroke !!.Valve Adjustment. So I followed the Service Manual on checking the valves. I found them set extremely tight. I adjusted them to the .006 or .15 mm rotated the crack a complete cycle back to top in and they valves were extremely lose at this point. Is this a timing chain issue.
