Hey Guys newbie here, I have a 2001 Honda Recon that I just bought. I was wondering about the reserve fuel tank. Does it mix up with the rest of the tank when I fill up or is it gas that has just been sitting their for a long time I dont want to be out and run out of gas and switch to reserve and suck a bunch of crap into my carb...Thanks Fellas

Welcome to the forums. It all goes into the same tank. There's two tubes that stick up inside the tank. One of the tubes will stick up higher and will be the "on" tube. Fuel enters the top of this tube in the "on" position. When it gets down below the top of the tube, you will run out of fuel and when you put it in the "reserve" position, the fuel will enter a second, lower tube, which is the reserve tube and will finish running all the fuel out of the tank.

out of curiosity how much fuel do you have left when you switch over to the reserve? i dont let my fuel run out that much but its good to know incase it happens. (talking about a 300 4x4 1998 model) or all 300's have the same size gas tank?

i can run for a good little while on my reserve.

if i had to guess, i would say its 20% of the 100% capacity.

pretty much i can run out about 4-5 miles from the house. switch to reserve, ride it hard all the way back and still have a little bit to ride around the yard when i get back.
