I will be installing a 20" led light bar on the front cargo rack.Have some mounts ordered.Still looking at lights should decide soon which one I want. Will most likely get a cheaper one to start,I ride in the woods a lot and would hate to break a expensive one.
My question I will go with a 4 pin relay.Where would be a good place to mount Relay? What would be a good relay to choose? Can I buy a relay without having to order one online? I can do the hookup myself just need to do it right the first time in choosing type and location of relay.

Well there are several ways to go, but the best way is to try and find a waterproof switch.
I bought an auxbeam harness with a mouse switch. It works well but a pin came out of the switch harness connector before I installed it. I replaced the connector with individual bullet connectors.

That's right on the waterproof Relay, maybe a auto parts store will have one. Most I seen on eBay seem to ship from China.I changed my mind about a independent switch.I now plan on hooking to Hi Beam switch, will like that better

Still not sure best place to mount Relay, will look to see if I can put it under seat close to battery.

I wired mine to the accessory circuit; it’s a separate 15A circuit so i can switch off the main lamps and still run accessory lamps.

I secured my relay under the seat.

I have just finished trimming up the wires so the harness fits well under the fender.

You can pick up a 30amp 4pin or 5pin relay at the parts store.

If you look at the bottom it will have numbers next to the pin.

86 - To Switch
85 - To Ground
87 - To Positve Wire On Light
30 - To Battery *Make sure you install a fuse, closest to the battery is best*

If you get a 5pin you will also see 87A, just ignore it you dont need it.

When i did all my lighting upgrades i cut a plate out of a thin sheet of steel and attached it to the frame just under the fuel tank. If the only upgrade you going to be doing is this one light then you can probably just fit the replay under the "dash".
