[99 recon]

i bought a 99 recon and want to swap the plastics and put on 250ex plastics and i need to now if the 250ex plastics will fit on a recon frame....

Welcome to the forums. That won't work because they are two completly different animals.

Yeah, I believe Moose said they were the same, except for the plastics.

The only thing that may be different is the steering stem and the subframe.

The Recon and the 250EX are from what I have been told are the same but the plastics were swapped the make a small utility quad, now tom may be correct on the steering but I can't say for sure I know the Recon has a back-up pull start and the 250EX dosen't but that can be retroed to fit. I would find a 250EX and look at it really good I mean look at the frame and see if it will indeed work... Good luck.

from what i could tell, they have different a arms and front brakes, thats about it. Does anyone know whether the disc brakes off a 250ex will fit direct bolt up on my 07 recon i would like to get rid of those plunko drum fronts. i know you can swap the entire front end but its like $900 from the dealer in parts also thinkin about rejettin, and a hopped up CDI just kinda wanting to supe it up alittle. how do you rejet it, im familiar with the GX series commercial series of honda engines not the atv engines though, how do you put a new higher output CDI on ??? any help would be appreciated new to this lookin for some help
