Ive read you can upgrade your recon tires and rims to Honda Rancher style rims with 25’s on the front and 24’s on the rear. What about running 25’s all around? Would a shock upgrade be enough for additional clearance for the rear? I’m new here so any input is greatly appreciated.

I've also heard of others doing that without a lift and without rubbing... But we put true 25's on the front of ours and get a touch of rubbing at full turn, and the 24's we put on the rear also rub some once you load the suspension down.

We just ran those tires cause we had them around. If I were buying specifically for it and no lift kit or spacers I'd buy 23's for rear and 24's for front.

I’ve located some rims/tires that are 25/8/12 for the front and 25/10/12 for the rear.
Are the rims you are looking at the right offset for the rear? You'll have the power to turn them no problem, and you'll only know how much extra shock length, or lift, or wheel spacer you need by trying them on.

Front 2+5
Rear 5+2
I’m thinking of a possible 1” lift plus adding a different shock in the rear to avoid any possible rubbing.
Sounds like you have your plan. Post some pics and the specifics of what you end up doing to get clearance when you're done with it all.

We've gotten use to the looks of our Recon with bigger tires. Now when our see one with the little stock 22's it just looks silly.

I’ve completed the project. I purchased some used Honda foreman rims and tires. I put 2” spacers all around with a 2” lift. I need to purchase a stiffer shock for the rear. Here’s some pics.
