I have a 2007 honda rancher 420, im having poblems with it cutting off after you ride it about 10 min then it constantly shuts down a few seconds after you start it back up. Let it set for a little while and cool down it will run for a little while and shut back down. First thoughts was it was overheating but the tempurture light does not come on and the fan runs as normal. Any suggestions to this problem.

Hello and welcome to the forums. It sounds like something is heating up. But what I do not know. I'm sure someone here will be able to help you figure it out.

Just a guess, but it could be your fuel pump.

hey i was having the same problem this week with a 07 420fe, thought it was overheating because the fan was not comming on, ran fine when cold but when it got hot it would die. i ended up tearing apart the fuel pump and the filter was plugged with mud. i had just bought this machine so was not me, i will be replacing the filter but until i get the new one i just cleaned the filter with carb clean and a paper towel, runs great now went for about a 3 hour ride today without a problem

I would start by narrowing the problem between spark and carb. Start it up..and when it dies--give it a SMALL shot of starting fluid and see if it fires up. If not... then you know to look electrical...and look for something that is getting hot (such as the coil/coil wire) and not allowing spark.
