Rancher 420 won't start??

I'm new to this forum stuff. I've never done it before so bare with me. I have 08 rancher 420 FE. Bike was making a whining noise while starting up over the winter for plowing snow. Figured the starter was on the way out. Sure enough last week I was moving brush. I shut the machine off went to start it up the relay just clicks ounce. Pulled the starter and ran a bench test. Starter shot. Easy fix rite? No. Installed new starter and now relay clocks multiple times over and over but bike won't start. Any ideas. I'm stumped.
