This may get moved to the gear reduction sub section.
Realistically speaking to keep power the same you’d get away with 27 to 28” it’s difficult with a Rancher because there’s no invetween reduction, I’m pretty sure you got a 35% or 69% available.
It all depends how much deep mud you ride, with 28 mayhem’s and the 35% your probably still going to have to use first in deep clay mud holes. However, if you ride more flat trails to get to these mud holes then a 35% is more suited and just put up with having to use first gear. The 69% would give a super slow ride on trails with 28’s, you could go up to 30 to 32” though with the 69%.
I bought a 08 Honda rancher 420 foot shift on 27 inch og outlaws and the person I bought it from said it had a 35% gear reduction or a clutch kit I can’t remember but is there a way to check? It turns the 27s like nothing
I have a 2019 Rancher 420 SRA. I just installed a 2” Highlifter lift on the bike. I have a friend of mine willing to give me a set of 28” outlaws but I’m afraid they might be too much for the rancher without a gear reduction. I cannot do the gear reduction on it because it will void my warranty...
I have a 2016 rancher 420 ELECTRIC SHIFT SRA. I have a 2 inch lift with 30x9x14 vampire EDLs. I’m wanting to install a 53% GR. I had someone tell me that it would get hung up in higher gears. And possibly have shifting issues. Any info on this would be great.
