I have a Honda ES 350. It will not start electrically. It will however start with the pull start.

When the key is turned on the info center lights up. When you flip on the headlight switch The info center display goes away. When you turn lights off display comes back. When you pull start it. It runs fine and shifts fine until you turn the lights on. Once you turn lights on the electric shift no longer works. Could this be a ground issue? Are there codes I can check? If there are codes where can I find code reference numbers?

Welcome to the forums. I don't think it will store a trouble code for that type of problem. Make sure you have a good battery and clean your battery cable ends and see what happens. Sounds like a bad connection or bad battery.

Thank you, Could the battery just go bad all of a sudden though? I rode it early in the morning then my son took it to spread deer bait. When he got back on it it wouldn't start. He had to pull start it. I actually hope it is just a battery!

I would check for loose connections and clean the battery cables good and make sure they're tight. You might just have a loose or corroded battery cable end.

bad battery..and if you put a new battery in..and it still don't hold a charge..then your stator or reg/rec is bad.
