Hi All - I just joined this forum (but have been lurking for years LOL)..and have a problem you may be able to help with...
2002 Rancher 350...
Starter died..replaced worn out brushes and tested starter on bench with battery charger...
Starter worked before I took it off to replace brushes if I knocked it with a hammer...
Reinstalled the starter and it just spins - without engaging motor..
Everything points to faulty one-way bearing..but it worked fine prior to removing starter.. I find it hard to believe that the one-way bearing failed at the same time that I replaced brushes...unless I damaged it in the process of removing / reinstalling starter?
Anybody have any ideas? I dont feel like pulling engine out if I dont have to....
I would appreciate any insight,...thanks..
Ken S.
