Can someone tell me EXACTLY where I should find my color label? My book says it's attached to the cross member, under the seat. The picture is indicating that it's on the left at the rear of the tank.

Stating that it's attached makes me think it may have been on a label that has fallen off...I see nothing engraved there on the frame.

It's not a big deal, but I'd like to right it down for future references.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thank you; I really appreciate it!

While I'm on the subject...this may be a dumb question, but is the VIN the same as the frame number? If not, I have some research to do, because I don't remember seeing a VIN in the ID sticker on the frame.

The VIN is on the sticker and the same number is also stamped on the frame, but something tells me the frame has its own specific number somewhere else too. If you post the number you found then it shouldn’t be hard to tell you if it’s a frame or vin number

Just as I thought, there is no other number on the sticker. It says: TRX 350FM Honda 2000, there is another sticker on the opposite side of the frame, and it's badly chipped and broken off. All I can make out is that it must be a warning label of some kind...it talks about gasoline and such.

The number that I found on the frame and was also given as the VIN is: 478TE2500YA002297

Sorry I read this earlier and meant to reply but forgot lol. Yeah that looks to be a chassis number, the model code is TE25 typically in the VIN that’s followed by an E and in the Chassis code it’s followed by a 0. If that’s the only difference I’m not too sure. I’m going to do a little more digging and see what i find.

I just want to figure out if the frame s/n and VIN are interchangeable, because it shows the frame number in the place I would typically look for the vin, so my thoughts are that the frame number IS the VIN? I have to look at my own machine.

As I suspected the VIN and Chassis/Frame number are the same thing. Here is my own 350

Well, we have that riddle solved then LOL! Thanks for the time and info! My sticker is quite smaller than that one. Maybe my year and model never had the VIN on the sticker...just the frame?

Thanks again! Now I can make a note of the color code with everything else for future reference. I've had it for about 2 1/2 years and just now got my operation and repair manuals printed. It's nice to not have to come to my computer every time I need to know something.

I assume mine would be the same as yours, yours being a 2000 and mine being a 2001. But maybe US vs. Canada is different....
