Hello. The other day the bike just wouldn’t start so I opened up the front and had at wires. I removed some handwarmer wires that were stealing power from the headlights and plugged the lights back in (fuse by battery was blown) I then used my meter and was only getting 1.5v to the coil. I found a unattached black wire that had 12v+ and ran to coil bike runs has lights sorta. One headlight works fine on low and high but the other has a dull glow all the time.

So question is I feel like I may have bypassed the CDI ? Is that bad? Works fine?

Also is this just a blown bulb or should I be looking at something else? Thanks

Take a look at the wiring diagram—I don’t think there’s a black wire in the system. The coil and system grounds are all green I’m pretty sure. The other coil wire is striped but does have black in it.
I would disco that wire until I found where it comes from
