Hi guys, I recently bought a used 1991 trx 350 ( same as '89 foreman)What is the proper way to shift ? let of throttle and then shift ,or just shift ,also I read on forums lots of people start in second ? any problems. can you damage anything if trying to go in too high a gear? also read about not taking hubs apart? hub on axle, can you take the brake drum of without doing this? also welded hub? Thanks Eric

Always let off the throttle when you shift. You can take off in second as long as you're not going up a steep hill, pulling something, or have a lot of weight on the ATV. First on those ATVs is actually super low. If you try to take off in higher gears than second, you can damage the centrifugal clutch.

On the Fourtrax 300, you don't need to take the hub off to change the brakes, but on yours, the Fourtrax 350, I think you have to take the hub off to change them.
yup..you do..the brake hub wont come off unless you remove the wheel hub....i know this answer !..lmfao.
