I have a 2004 Recon (yellow) and i just bought brand new rear wheels for it. I want to do kind of a bumblebee look with this fourwheeler so i want to powder coat these wheels black.

Has anybody here powder coated their wheels and how do they turn out? How will does the coating last?

If you had to do it over would you just buy black after market wheels?

Yes i powdercoated my wheels olive drab—cost me $200 to have four wheels media blasted and powder coated. I would do it again.
@Macarena Man painted his two tone looks PDG.

I think it comes down to how and where you ride, powder coating will scratch and wear off
and also, how much you want a certain LOOK< over being more a hard use!
and also, as always, your budget!

like all things, its a personal choice IMO!

I know for a fact POR 15 cures about as hard as powder coating does, and could be a cheaper way to go, but that's your call!
so would having them say bed liner coated, might hold mud more though with that on wheels! but it too can be colored to what ever color you wanted! and be MAYBE cheaper than powder coating, but GOOD liner won';t be much cheaper, get what you pay for in liners IMO!

Too funny. I just opened the box to my new wheels and they are black. My stock ones are gray. God is good to me.
My first thought after reading the first post was "if you are buying brand new ones just buy black ones, same cost as silver when buying new"
